A community-led effort celebrating young Houston filmmakers

Rocket Reels: Houston Kid’ Film Festival is a grassroots, volunteer-led initiative celebrating the creativity and storytelling of Houston’s next generation of filmmakers. We’re thrilled to bring the inaugural film festival to life thanks to support from the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

Presenting Partners

Rocket Reels wouldn’t be possible without the student producers, the parents who help bring their kids’ filmmaking ideas to life, and the local filmmakers and community partners who have volunteered their time and helped spread the word. Thank you for being part of this effort and helping Houston’s youngest filmmakers share their creativity on the big screen!

Proceeds to benefit Aurora Picture Show

Any proceeds from the Houston Kids’ Film Festival will benefit Aurora Picture Show, a Houston-based nonprofit media arts organization dedicated to expanding the cinematic experience. We’re especially grateful for Aurora’s commitment to youth education programs and the hands-on filmmaking opportunities it provides to Houston kids throughout the year.
